Leia Patterson is in her second year of the MA program in political science at Carleton University. Her research interests focus on the intersection of civic education and political participation. She is interested in making politics more engaging and accessible, particularly for young people, and in improving political education in Canada. Her current research project examines how political participation is taught in the social studies curriculum in Ontario and her home province of Manitoba. In her downtime, Leia is an avid yogi who enjoys unwinding with a good book and a cup of tea.
