Michael Wigginton

Dr. Wigginton is a Social Science and Humanities Research Council post-doctoral fellow in political science at Carleton University where his research looks at diversity in representation. He completed his MA and PhD at the University of Ottawa and his BA at York University’s Glendon College. During his PhD, Dr. Wigginton published on a variety of subjects related to electoral politics, including on voter turnout and diversity and representation. His doctoral dissertation examined women’s representation in Canadian federal politics, focusing on the role of candidate selection processes and women candidates’ differing levels of success at different stages of the ‘representation pipeline’.
